Chris and Pam in Alaska 2000
Chris goes horseback riding in the Yukon Territory, Canada
I took van ride into Canada, where we met up with Joni MacKinnon and her horses.

Before we got to the horses, we stopped by a lake whos water was clear, but the silt on the bottom was blue green....

... and beautiful!

Me, and a very nice horse named Bullet

And away we go through the countryside..

Along some old railroad tracks, where we saw some Bear spoor, but thankfully no bears.

Pictures just can not do the beauty of the land justice.

Joni, trip leader and owner of the horses, stopped at various points to show us things. Here is an actual Gold Claim marker by the side of a large stream.

The upper part of the stream...

... rushing down over a small waterfall.

Joni and Chris.

Later on we came across a log shack that is used by various folks during the winter months.

Exploring the inside of the 1 room log shack, the stove pipe in the middle from a small wood stove on the floor.

It was a wonderful ride, nice horses, super scenery, Joni was wonderful! Bullet was a good mount. The land we covered is "Crown Land" belonging to Canada. We stopped a few more places, once to look for Dall Sheep along the side of a valley, but they were hiding. The trail through the pine trees was fun, as there was only a horse width through some of them.
